I really want to start a weekly note where I ramble about my writing and what I'm working on. So this is the start of that. I'm hoping it will help keep me focused as I work on the next project...and the next...and the next.
Time keeps slipping away from me.
One of the things I am trying to get better about is ensuring I have dedicated writing time in the mornings. The problem I am finding, is there is SO MUCH OTHER STUFF that is requiring my attention related to the self-published side of things.
A not so small portion of that is...marketing. Marketing is all consuming. It devours my time. And I know I need to get better organized about when I allow myself to focus on marketing, especially because the reality is the best thing I can do as an author is....focus on writing the next book.
So starting next week I am making a promise to myself to be stricter about my time. The morning is for writing only. Anything else business related or tangentially writing related will need to wait until the afternoon.
I have sent the first draft of STORMFORKS to my agent for a look and feedback. THE WARDS WILL FALL is my current focus while STORMFORKS is with my agent. I'm focusing on getting through copy edits by the end of this week.
I'm trying to decide what I'm going to focus on after I wrap up THE WARDS WILL FALL copy edits and I'm in limbo waiting edits back. I think I might start thinking about the second book after THE WARDS WILL FALL...or the monthly snail mail stories I want to start next year.
