Started the morning very early with a MRI to figure out what the hell is going on with my elbow. TBD here, but it's fairly annoying. After that went to meet up with a writing friend at my favorite coffee shop and was there until about noon, getting shit done. I also had 3 caffeinated drinks and was ready to race to the moon afterward, whoops. Side note: spiced citrus syrup is fantastic in everything.
Also had a nice email update from my agent as well as an email from Willow and Dagger about the preorders they've sold for Devouring Fortune (also they ship internationally!).
FOCUS: Book 2 planning for the book that comes after The Wards Will Fall. I still don't have a working title for this one, but I got 1363 words done in my planning document for book 2. Mostly this was setup and the 'state of the world', along with what my intentions and wants are from book 2. I like to frame things this way because while I don't typically plot and outline books ahead of time, it helps me to keep the scope narrow enough the book doesn't spiral out in a million different directions.
PROCESS & SUCH: For planning and organization, I use Obsidian. I have found Obsidian is fantastic for keeping things organized, plus it's super customizable. I spent the morning from 9:30am-noon at the coffee shop.
WATCHING: Tonight it's...BOAT SHOW. Love my Below Decks Tuesdays. Also more Pysch reruns.
LISTENING: My friend sent me a video of a live performance of the band Glass Beams. I loved their shiny masks, which gave me a little bit of envy, but also inspiration for my next mask (I love my giant paper dragon skull, but it is cumbersome). Also their music is cool and I'll probably put it on to write to this week.
READING: Finishing up Hellbound by Stephanie Binx today (Bookshop, Amazon, Kobo). Still really enjoying this and the cosmic horror angle.
LINK: If you're a queer writer, heads up that the Lammy submissions are open! It does cost money to submit, but self-pub authors are welcome.
UP NEXT: Continuing to plan Book 2 (and think about Book 3), hopefully start on some actual opening chapters.
