I'm back for another week of notes! This weekend I went to Provincetown with friends to enjoy the town and beach. This was my first time to the Cape Cod area and it was amazing.
My favorite part was going whale watching and seeing a bunch of humpback whales, including a calf. Some things I learned about whales:
- The blue whale and fin whale are the largest animals to ever live (yes, even larger than dinosaurs). Which makes them incredibly special.
- Humpback whales can be identified by the patterns on the underside of their tails, so once you know these patterns it's easy to recognize individuals.
While I was out, the basic hardcovers for the Devouring Fortune Kickstarter arrived from the UK (finally!).
FOCUS: Fulfilling Kickstarter rewards today. I had physical therapy early in the day and spent the rest of the day packing orders to get these ready for shipping tomorrow. I'm almost done with this, and while it's been an amazing experience I'm happy to be nearing the end (which also means I will start focusing on my next Kickstarter for The Wards Will Fall). I packed 17 orders...whew. Only 2 left, but I'm still waiting for those to come in the mail from my printer.
PROCESS & SUCH: Boxes of books from the printer, shipping bags, bubble wrap, tissue paper and all the various physical rewards. I put on reruns of Psych, had some candy nearby and treated myself to this as I went.
WATCHING: More reruns of Psych. This is my current go to binge show while I work on other things since I don't feel like I need to focus on it too closely to understand what's happening.
LISTENING: Didn't listen to anything today since I wasn't writing!
READING: Continuing to read Hellbound by my friend, Stephanie Binx (Bookshop, Amazon, Kobo). Still not finished reading this!! I didn't get as much reading done over the weekend as I had planned, primarily because I ended up spending a lot of time walking around town with friends instead of hanging out at the beach.
LINK: If you're ever in the Provincetown area, highly recommend whale watching with Dolphin Fleet (link to Dolphin Fleet here). Not only do they do whale watching tours, but they also are big in conservancy and actively take data and do research on every tour, which is pretty cool.
UP NEXT: Tomorrow I'm getting back into drafting! I think I'll be starting to work on the sequel to The Wards Will Fall, and I'm super excited to return to Maxwell and [redacted] story.
