Day Note: Sept 8th

Published by Oleander Craw in writing Share

I'm getting back in the groove of waking up around 5:15am to get writing in after a week break. Today was also nice because I met a friend for coffee and then spent two hours yapping which was extremely needed.

Also the spiced citrus latte I had was amazing. Definitely getting another next time I go back, which will probably be soon.

FOCUS: Today I wanted to finish copy edits for The Wards Will Fall. I managed to get through about 200 pages and am so close to being done. So close. But I decided to call it a day at 4:30pm. I just have one little section I need to add more to and didn't want to push it while exhausted.

PROCESS & SUCH: Trying to get back into the habit of getting up early as I find I do all my best work in the early early morning. Was up at 5:15am this morning, took a shower and then started 30 minute sprints with the Sprinto bot on Discord. Approximately a 5 minute break in between sprints and then a longer one around 7:15am to make coffee, get water and feed the cats.

Then, frankly, I noodled around and didn't do much as I was meeting a friend for coffee at 9:30am and when I have set plans I feel like I must sit and wait. The afternoon was a solid writing session. No sprints, just focused time.

WATCHING: Watched more Psych reruns, including one of my absolute favorite episodes, Rob-A-Bye Baby, where Shawn and Gus are tasked to secretly find a nanny service by Chief Vick.

LISTENING: Spent my writing time listening to my The Wards Will Fall writing playlist (here's the link to my TWWF writing playlist). Wild to think that I created this playlist in 2018 and have been listening to it ever since when I draft or edit on this project.

READING: Continuing to read Hellbound by my friend, Stephanie Binx (Bookshop, Amazon, Kobo). I didn't get as much reading done yesterday as I would have liked.

LINK: As part of Stormforks research, I have been doing research into patterns, resonant frequencies and chaos theory. So here's the wikipedia article for the Golden Ratio, which I have been reading about (specifically the Golden Spiral).

UP NEXT: Tomorrow I just need to wrap up this one scene and then edits will be done!
