A rare Friday note! I won't do these often, but I felt like yapping about my progress today. And this weekend is Halloween, my fave.

FOCUS: STORMFORKS outline! I'm pleased to say I got through a good portion of untangling the yarn ball that is this project. I'm not sure what it is specifically that clicked for me, but I think I figured out what's been giving me so many problems when I try to approach edits for draft 2.
This does mean more significant rewrites, but ultimately that means this story is going to be so much stronger. So it goes!
PROCESS & SUCH: Bullet points are my friend today. Also I kept in mind the expansive form of outlining, where I bullet point the larger beats, then within those expand the idea and get more granular.
WATCHING: To celebrate the life of Patrick Stewart we watched X-Men last night and started Star Trek: The Next Generation from episode 1. I haven't seen episodes of this Star Trek since I was a kid, so it's been a nice hit of nostalgia though I don't remember anything about this first episode.
LISTENING: My listening is focused on my STORMFORKS playlist at the moment to get in the mood for draft 2 edits.
READING: Currently reading THERE IS NO ANTIMEMETICS DIVISION by qntm (Bookshop, Kobo, Amazon, Waterstones). I continue to enjoy the SCP Foundation vibes to this book, and learned that it used to be a serial before it was a book! As someone who also writes a serial, I always love to find out that good books started their life as a serial first.
UP NEXT: Hoping to get outline stuff done this weekend so I can start draft 2 in earnest next week.
