I was on a podcast!

Last month, I was invited to be a guest on No Villains Necessary, a podcast hosted by my friend, K.T. Lyn. This released on Monday and I had a chance to listen to it this afternoon.

Episode 3: Oleander Craw and Challenges — K. T. Lyn
Join K. T. Lyn as they interview speculative fiction author Oleander Craw. Feel their joy as they explain what makes them excited to write and how they push themselves to do better. Then stick around for some challenging material.

This was my first time being interviewed (and on a podcast), and I had a fantastic time. Go give it a listen if you'd like to hear my thoughts on writing!

FOCUS: My focus was split today on several different projects. I remembered that there were a few things that I really needed to get done today, including drafting my next monthly newsletter, finishing the back cover copy for THE WARDS WILL FALL, and wrapping up October's flash fiction about feral mermaid clones.

I wrote 235 words in MAGE WILLOW, 243 words for the flash story and 1010 words for the monthly newsletter.

PROCESS & SUCH: I ran over to the coffee shop to focus, which is why I think I got so much done this morning. A writing friend joined me and we had a good body double session as a result!

WATCHING: Yesterday I watched more Below Decks, my favorite Tuesday reality TV show. As always, everyone is messy. I love it.

LISTENING: Continuing to listen through my saved song list to put together a writing playlist for MAGE WILLOW at the moment.

READING: Continuing to read THE SPACE BETWEEN WORLDS by Micaiah Johnson (Kobo, Bookshop, Amazon, Waterstones). The story is starting to complicate with different versions of people between worlds, and what this says from a social class standpoint. Overall a fascinating story with beautiful prose that I'm enjoying sitting with.

UP NEXT: Tomorrow I plan to finish my newsletter post (it's a little late this month! But it's a big one), as well as continue to work on MAGE WILLOW.
