I was a little overly optimistic this weekend. I finally hit the post-release crash (by the way, the ebook of DEVOURING FORTUNE is finally live on Amazon! Turns out they had blocked it from releasing...accidentally. Yeah.) and realized I needed to spend the weekend just existing. So I did. And got a decent amount done on this puzzle.

Today I lost some focus because my favorite west mex fast food restaurant opened up today in my town. So my partner and I got there early to wait in line to be some of the first to get burritos, which also came with a golden ticket good for free food weekly for a year.
FOCUS: Chapter 4 of MAGE WILLOW was the focus for today, as well as working more on the back cover copy for THE WARDS WILL FALL. I polished up the back cover copy some more, so this is looking to be in good shape. I only got about 210 words of MAGE WILLOW done, but that's fine. Today ended up being heavier on other tasks including shipping off some books (including one to the copyright office) as well as some neglected house chores that really needed attending to.
PROCESS & SUCH: I need to find a better process for packing and shipping books. Right now I don't have a dedicated space so I spend a lot of time unpacking and arranging everything before using it, and then putting everything back again.
WATCHING: Over the weekend, I finished watching Widow's Bay on AppleTV. Holy shit, what a cool show. I went into this blind, only knowing it was a horror comedy. I think this is in my top shows of all time. It's very rare that I find a show that navigates that line of horror and comedy so well. Absolutely loved it, highly recommend.

LISTENING: I'm still working on putting together my playlist for MAGE WILLOW, which means I'm listening to my liked songs on shuffle. So far I've only added about 3 songs, but am looking forward to building this playlist.
READING: I started reading THE SPACE BETWEEN WORLDS by Micaiah Johnson (Kobo, Bookshop, Amazon, Waterstones). I'm not super far into it yet, only about 2 chapters or so but already enjoying the gorgeous writing and premise.
LINK: Lincoln Michel has a good read on the discourse around the literary crisis. It's another reminder that I want to introduce less screen time into my own day. I want more time to read books.
UP NEXT: Tomorrow I want to make good progress on Chapter 4 of MAGE WILLOW.
