Day Note: Oct 14th

Gosh, y'all.

Yesterday was the release day for DEVOURING FORTUNE. I received such an outpouring of support and messages, that I was overwhelmed (in the best way). And then I cried a little bit when the bookstore, Giovanni's Room, tagged me on Instagram in a post that showed my book was displayed in their bookstore.

All that to say - yesterday was incredible.

FOCUS: Today was not a writing day. I had some housekeeping that needed to happen today, namely filing the copyright paperwork for DEVOURING FORTUNE as well as some other miscellaneous admin tasks that I have been putting off. I also felt like I needed one more recovery day following the release, and I'm really trying to ensure I keep myself from burning out.

PROCESS & SUCH: I have learned the US copyright office website feels very archaic, but honestly it was organized well and had tons of helpful information that made filing fairly easy. So...hell yeah?

WATCHING: Yesterday I drank an entire bottle of prosecco and watched increasingly terrible M. Night Shyamalan movies. I started with Sixth Sense, which I haven't seen since I was a kid. This was still very good. I followed this with The Village and Signs, which are both just okay. Ended the night with Lady in the Water which...I only managed to get through about 20 minutes of this before I needed to admit defeat. Didn't get to Older, which I really wanted to watch (It is not good, but I find parts of it intriguing).

LISTENING: My internet was very spotty today, so I didn't listen to much music this morning.

READING: Almost done with THE ERSTWHILE TYLER KYLE by Steve Hugh Westenra (Kobo, Amazon, Barnes&Noble). I'm currently reading this through Kobo Plus. Enjoying it and hoping to finish it up today.

UP NEXT: Tomorrow I will start on Chapter 4 of MAGE WILLOW.
