Day Note: Nov 3rd

Pivot. PIVOT. PIVOT!!

Published by Oleander Craw in writing Share

Today was voting day for the midterm elections in the US. I did this first thing this morning, and then my partner and I treated ourselves to breakfast and coffee at one of our favorite breakfast spots.

If you are in the US reading this and haven't voted yet...go do it. Now.

FOCUS: I started drafting STORMFORKS draft 2 this morning. I was very distracted. Elections have been looming heavy in my mind and between voting and physical therapy, my focus was extremely shot. I wrote 197 words today and then decided to pivot to social media, marketing training videos (ugh) and business research stuff, which is VERY UNGLAMOROUS but this is the reality of being a self-published author who is just starting out.

PROCESS & SUCH: Because my focus was so scattered, I decided to pivot to something that was more of a passive brain activity (watching training videos). Sometimes it's just like this, and it's good to know when it's time to pivot.

WATCHING: It's Tuesday which means its my favorite BOAT SHOW. I will probably also be watching some news about the midterm elections. Probably with a bottle of prosecco.

READING: I finished reading THERE IS NO ANTIMEMETICS DIVISION by qntm (Bookshop, Kobo, Amazon, Waterstones) today. Overall super enjoyed this and definitely recommend!

UP NEXT: Okay!! Tomorrow I get back to drafting in earnest.
